Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detailoriented clerical accountant with a strong audit background to support our finance team in the steel and aluminum manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will handle accounts payable and receivable perform data entry and contribute strategic financial insights to improve processes and compliance. This role demands a high level of proficiency in Excel a solid grasp of accounting principles and government regulations and experience using modern accounting software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions accurately and on time

  • Maintain proper records of financial transactions and support timely data entry

  • Prepare reconciliations of ledgers bank accounts and vendor statements

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial reports

  • Collaborate in internal audits and support external audit processes

  • Ensure compliance with relevant government regulations tax laws and statutory reporting requirements

  • Utilize and maintain accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP Sage) to process transactions

  • Analyze financial data and suggest strategies for cost optimization and efficiency

  • Prepare and maintain Excel spreadsheets for budgeting cash flows and financial analysis

  • Contribute to improving and automating clerical accounting processes

  • Support inventory and procurement finance functions where needed


Requirements

Requirements:
  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field

  • Minimum 2 4 years of experience strictly in audit and/or metal manufacturing industry

  • Proven experience in handling accounts payable and receivable

  • Proficient in Excel (including formulas pivot tables and data analysis tools)

  • Knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and government compliance in manufacturing

  • Experience with accounting tools like QuickBooks Tally SAP or Sage

  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to propose practical financial strategies

  • High attention to detail organizational skills and discretion with sensitive information

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure

Requirements: 5+ years of experience in HR management having handled over 100 employees At least 3 years in a manufacturing or factory environment familiarity with factory operations is important. Experience handling large teams (200+ employees), preferably unionized environments. Strong knowledge of Kenyan labor laws, health and safety regulations, and statutory compliance (NHIF, NSSF, PAYE). Expertise in recruitment, employee relations, disciplinary processes, and performance Management. Ability to manage payroll administration (working with finance if necessary). Skilled in conflict resolution and negotiation (especially useful if there are unions). Good understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) standards. Strong organizational, record-keeping, and administrative skills. Proficient in HR Information Systems (HRIS), Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and basic reporting.
