Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Manager Engineering Mobile (Order Tracking SDK Logistics) to join the Logistics team at Glovo Barcelona on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences.

In our Logistics Team youll tackle highimpact challenges that make lastmile delivery efficient affordable and sustainable. Your work will directly improve experiences for riders end customers and merchants across the globe. Each enhancement you contribute will help Delivery Hero optimize delivery operations supporting expansion into new areas like grocery and retail.

This is a central role with global impact that requires a unique blend of business and technical acumen as you will work with our various regional brands to build a configurable tracking experience that can be rolled out world wide. You will work closely with important stakeholders in the company to understand the engineering challenges and the issues they face and to conceptualize innovative solutions for the broader Delivery Hero. You will be responsible for the product that helps our customers track their orders and have a direct impact on the delivery experience of users around the world.

  • Lead mobile engineering for our Mobile SDK projects from creation to rollout and updates.
  • Guide support and mentor engineers of multiple levels (Mid Senior Staff Principal) to become more effective.
  • Deeply understand the business processes and participate in defining the roadmap for core Delivery Hero teams responsible for tracking orders across the globe.
  • Plan and ensure scalability / stability of the systems you own.
  • Incorporate best practices when it comes to data compliance PII data protection security into our infrastructure tools products processes and our org culture.
  • Drive both quarterly and longterm goals and key results with full responsibility for executing the OKRs.
  • Advocate best engineering practices be a pragmatic voice showing where to invest engineering effort where it can best move the needle.

Qualifications :

  • A bachelors degree in a traditional science subject ideally computer science engineering  or information systems.
  • 10 years of professional software development experience and at least 2 years of experience as engineering manager and has managed teams of at least 5 direct reports.
  • Experience managing and developing mobile apps (Android / iOS).
  • Ability to get handson in a complex operational environment to manage and close the loop on multiple concurring tasks all whilst building healthy relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in developing a sophisticated app release process ensuring the highest levels of quality.
  • Proven experience in measuring monitoring and improving app performance of mobile applications.

Nice to Have: 

  • You have already managed Staff and Principal engineers in the past.
  • You have already participated in the development of SDKs across iOS Android and Flutter.
  • Experience in creating metrics for security and improving on it.
  • Experience in large teams (100 FTES).
  • Experience with Incident Management.
