Key Responsibilities:
- Translates broader strategy into a compelling team vision and goals; aligns the team and sets priorities to achieve objectives.

- Provides subject matter expertise in current tax legislation proposed/pending legislation their implications and understands interaction across the Global Tax and Legal function specifically with their area of expertise.
- Demonstrates deep knowledge in area of specialization and is recognized as a tax subject matter expert in selected area of specialization and is a thought leader on how the clients needs can be met by applying appropriate solutions.
- Leads client projects and solves complex technical/business issues through innovative approaches while providing direction to others.
- Takes responsibility for accuracy and content of written technical advice reports memoranda and other deliverables relevant to tax laws and rules.
- Applies recent developments and changes relating to relevant tax practices rules and regulations to the clients business.
- Anticipates changes in tax laws and provides advice on the implications for clients.
- Expert knowledge of South African (SA) tax legislation SA tax landscape and tax policy including related regulations rulings case law
- Identifies emerging market trends anticipates client needs and evaluates advances in technology.
- Recommends innovative ways to leverage technology and automate client processes.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications
- B Com or equivalent qualification and H Dip Tax qualification or equivalent postgrad qualification
Desired Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Taxation (Honours or Masters)
Minimum Experience
- A minimum of 6 years experience in a client service role
- A minimum of 5 years experience in a management capacity managing a team client base and WIP
- A minimum of 8 years individual tax compliance experience
- A minimum of 5 years experience working with High Net Worth Individuals
- Experience dealing with the South African Revenue Service
Technical Competencies
- GES Consulting Applies indepth knowledge of domestic tax laws in field to provide strategic solutions to clients tax needs and enable clients to maximise tax opportunities. Applies industry expertise and global tax precedents in field to client projects. Develops knowledge of current tax legislation across the Global Tax and Legal function
- Tax Compliance Sound knowledge of tax compliance processes including SARS efiling systems
