Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Support Engineer to join our team supporting a major education provider across various locations in Kildare and Wicklow. This is a key role leading a small team and providing expertlevel support across a diverse ICT environment.
The successful candidate will play a central role in managing infrastructure resolving escalated technical issues supporting strategic initiatives and ensuring alignment with ICT policy and best practices. This is a contractor position offered on a fixedterm 2year basis with a strong likelihood of extension.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate team members

Act as escalation point for complex ICT issues across sites

Oversee maintenance and support of infrastructure and network systems

Lead performance optimisation and contribute to security audits

Plan and execute major system upgrades and migration strategies

Provide server management and support for specific Kildarebased sites

Collaborate with ICT staff contractors and sitebased stakeholders
-
Maintain and enforce documentation reporting and knowledge transfer standards

Provide advisory support to ICT coordinators and school principals

Ensure compliance with ICT policies and best practices
Essential Requirements
-
Minimum Level 8 NFQ qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant ICT discipline

At least 7 years of handson experience in ICT support and infrastructure roles

Strong expertise in networks servers system migrations and troubleshooting

Proven ability to lead support efforts and work collaboratively across multiple teams
-
Full drivers licence and willingness to travel to sites across Kildare and Wicklow
-
Ability to attend meetings as required and provide experienced backup personnel
-
Readiness to present certifications and references as part of the application process
Contract Details
-
2year fixedterm contractor role with the option to extend for a further 2 years

Onsite role across various educational institutions

Day rate to be agreed.
