05/27/2025Performs clerical duties for payroll in support of the Payroll Supervisor for the district through Business Services.The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and other key duties that may be required. Reports consistently for work as scheduled
Performs other duties as assigned
Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards
Answers telephone provides information to callers takes messages forwards phone calls as appropriate; greets visitors to building courteously determines their needs and provides information or directions
Assists in the daily activities associated with processing of payroll
Composes performs and types correspondence and reports including updating lists related to department functions
Implements office procedures to ensure the efficiency of operations
Maintains current information on staff member deductions and contributions (i.e. salary/benefits)
Maintains various databases reports and office filing system
Pays and maintains accurate accounts payable entries for payroll
Performs a variety of duties using various types of office equipment
Prepares and processes reports which require research computation and compilation
Prepares reports as required including payroll reports state and federal reports staff absence reports staff insurance forms etc.
Researches compiles and dispenses information to citizens businesses and other district agencies regarding district transactions
Sorts a variety of documents to include sensitive and confidential information
Verifies calculations of guest staff pay receipts and delivers monthly payroll by payroll cutoff date
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Ability to compile and type statistical reports
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors coworkers and the general public
Ability to establish and maintain records systems
Ability to maintain accurate filing system and related files
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to perform routine bookkeeping and clerical accounting
Ability to plan coordinate and research a variety of problemsolving and factfinding study projects
Ability to prepare and present written and oral reports
Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute
Ability to use a 10key
Ability to use database software
Considerable knowledge of basic office methods and procedures to include appropriate telephone etiquette spelling punctuation and grammar
Considerable knowledge of laws rules regulations and procedures related to district operations and departmental functions
Strong mathematical skills
