TheDirector of Major Giving is a newly created position within the Institutional AdvancementOffice charged with deepening relationships with new and existing leadershipand major giving prospects; qualifying cultivating soliciting and stewardinghighlevel commitments; and furthering the objectives outlined in the strategicvision for Abington Friends School Leadingby Design: Education for a Changing World. As AFS embarks on a capitalcampaign this Director will have tremendous impact partnering closely withthe Assistant Head of School for Institutional Advancement the Head of School andcampaign counsel in securing annual capital and planned gifts.

Preferred Qualifications:
Theideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience preferably in anindependent school or educational setting with a proven track record of cultivatingand securing major and planned gifts. Knowledge of advanced fundraisingtechniques including donor stewardship is essential. The candidate will havethe proven ability to manage projects and be able to work independently and ona team. This position requires a bachelors degree or higher and a candidatewith strong interpersonal oral and written communication skills who isproficient with Microsoft Office and Raisers Edge software.
