The main purpose of the Receiving Clerk position is to ensure the accurate and efficient receipt inspection and documentation of all incoming materials tools and parts required for maintenance and general operations. This role supports the smooth functioning of the workshop by maintaining proper inventory records identifying discrepancies and ensuring that all received goods are delivered in the correct quantity quality and condition and stored appropriately for easy access and use.
Skills :
- Receive and inspect incoming goods tools parts and materials delivered to the workshop
- Verify shipments against delivery notes invoices and purchase orders
- Check for damages shortages or discrepancies and report any issues promptly
- Accurately document and record all received items into inventory management systems
- Properly label and organize materials in designated storage areas
- Coordinate with procurement workshop and inventory control teams to ensure smooth operations
- Assist in cycle counts and periodic stocktakes
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of receiving and all storage areas
- Operate forklifts or other equipment to move heavy items (if certified)
- Ensure compliance with SOILL policies and procedures
- Attend to any other reasonable relevant tasks allocated by management that are required by operations
Health and Safety
- Participate in safety forums created by SOILL for example safety meetings and safety talks
- Followup on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management
- Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
- Attend safety education and refresher programmes
- Comply with safety policies and procedures at SOILL
- Distribute safety information as and when required
- Always wear protective clothing (where applicable)
