Job Purpose
As an Junior Ecologist you will support ecological surveys data analysis and conservation projects. You will work closely with senior ecologists to assess habitats conduct species surveys and contribute to environmental impact assessments. Your role will be crucial in ensuring compliance with ecological regulations and promoting biodiversity.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct ecological surveys including habitat assessments and protected species surveys.
- Assist in data collection analysis and reporting.
- Support the preparation of ecological impact assessments and mitigation strategies.
- Provide ecological advice to clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and best practices.
- Collaborate with conservation organizations and local authorities.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to research projects.
Requirements
- A degree in Ecology Environmental Science or a related field.
- Knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and ecological survey techniques.
- Experience in species identification and habitat assessment.
- Analytical and reportwriting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible to travel to sites as required
- A full UK driving licence or equivalent
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
