Job Description
Design Coordinator required for new build Gas Compressor Station taking the project from FEED through Detailed Design Construction and Commssioning.
- Coordinate technical and design processes design teams and subcontractors throughout the FEED and detail design procurement and construction monitoring progress to ensure delivery on time and in budget
- Technical design coordination of schemes in accordance with agreed programme ensuring company targets are met and that the maximum revenue is generated by the quality cost effectiveness and buildability of the design.
- Assisting Project Manager with reviewing of consultants detail design drawings and subcontractor designs.
- Tracking subcontractor design progress against contract programme
- Coordinating consultants and their deliverables driving a high standard
- Ensuring that designs comply with Company and Client standards
- Promoting design that respects budgetary constraints
- Ensuring fully complete correct and coordinated packages issued to Commercial and Construction teams
- Maintaining and delivering in accordance with Company values
- Managing subcontractor and supplier design approvals ensuring timely turnaround
- Managing the flow of information to Commercial Operations and Client.
- Providing input into monthly programme updates
- Reviewing and coordinating design and technical related issues with the Commercial and Operations teams.
- Managing change control process for variations in relation to drawing revisions construction programmes and costs
- Monitoring and obtaining all critical certificates to ensure documentation is in place for completion and handovers.
- Ensuring transmittal of documents is done in accordance with Document Management System via Document Control
- Ensuring current drawings are filed in order and design information exchange is as per the company protocol.
- Undertaking site visits as required
- Attending site meetings and monthly/weekly project meetings
- Principle designers representative and technical contact during construction works.
- Monitoring work executed on site to ensure that is completed as per design.
- Managing investigating and responding promptly with full close out to RFIs and TQs from construction team
- Reviewing and advising on corrective measures for identified design issues
- Compiling H&S files and O&M manuals
- At all times comply with company policies procedures and instructions.
- Comply with responsibilities as laid down in the groups health safety and environmental policy.
Qualifications :
Ideally familiar with National Gas design specification.
Compressor knowledge would be useful but not essential some experience of piping systems civils and EC&I design required.
