Job Title: HVAC Technician
Reports to: Assistant Director of Facilities
Dept/School: Facilities
Pay Grade: Auxiliary PG 6
Wage/Status: NonExempt

Primary Purpose:
Under general supervision maintain repair and install heating and air conditioning systems and equipment throughout the district. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all HVAC systems in district facilities.
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED Valid Texas drivers license
Texas air conditioning and refrigeration contractor license or technician certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Experience:
Five years experience in HVAC field
Prefer experience with kitchen equipment ovens walkin coolers and freezers.

Meters gages welding equipment ladders hoists hand and power tools pipe bender propane torch forklift elevated lift equipment light truck or van lap top computer and tablet.

This job requires the following physical demands: significant lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing; frequent walking standing reaching stooping kneeling bending crouching and/or crawling; work at elevated heights; work in tiring and uncomfortable positions; significant fine finger dexterity. The employee is occasionally required to sit climb or balance and smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision ability to adjust focus depth perception and peripheral vision. Demonstrate strength and dexterity to operate tools mowers and landscaping equipment. Occasionally required to work from ladders; and exposed to noise from power equipment.
Generally the job requires 5% sitting 50% walking and 45% standing. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and hazardous conditions and requires frequent district wide travel.
