GI Medical Oncologist

Assistant Associate Full Professor at the University of Florida. The Department of Medicine is seeking applications for a fulltime clinicianresearch track position for the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level. This position seeks an ABIM certified (or eligible) medical oncologist with experience in managing patients with GI cancers and an active interest in the development and conduct of interventional clinical trials and other collaborative clinical research projects. This individual will have a primarily clinical assignment but will also be expected to develop conduct and participate in clinical trials and other collaborative research involving patients with gastrointestinal malignancies with a particular focus on expanding the clinical care capacity and research portfolio offerings to patients with colorectal cancer. However clinical care and research to a lesser degree is also expected to include cancers of the esophagus stomach pancreas liver bile ducts neuroendocrine system bowel and anus. The successful candidate will have the opportunity and be expected to collaborate in a variety of activities including subspecialty and multidisciplinary GI cancer clinic at the UF Health main campus cancer case and research conferences both locally and nationally collaborative GI oncology clinical research and interventional clinical trials.

Faculty in the UF Division of Hematology and Oncology are members of the University of Florida Health Cancer Center (UFHCC) the only NCIdesignated Cancer Center in North Central Florida. The center is also the only NCIDesignated Cancer Center based at a public university in Florida. The UFHCC blends comprehensive patient care and innovative research in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment with members from 11 of the 16 colleges at the University of Florida (UF). UF is listed as one of the nations top five public research universities according to the 2023 Best Colleges rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

Resources available for professional development at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center include leadership education and research training through support from the UF Health Cancer Center Clinical Translational Science Institute (CTSI) formal mentorship programs and supported opportunities for teaching and research. The UF Health Cancer Center Clinical Research Office provides clinical research support.

Salary is negotiable commensurate with education and experience.

Applicants must be boardcertified or board eligible in Medical Oncology and Hematology and be eligible for a Florida Medical License.
