Qualifications:
Must hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate
Required Endorsements:
- Early Childhood General and Special Education (ZN)
- Early Childhood PKGeneral and Special Education (ZS)
- A major/ minor in Early Childhood Education or Child Growth & Development and a fully approved special education endorsement.
Description:
- Implement preschool curriculum as aligned with Individual Educational Programs (IEPs) using evidence based instructional materials and strategies which are developmentally appropriate for students 2.5 to 5 years of age.
- Collaborate with related service providers and parents to plan and implement accommodations to meet the individual student needs within the school and community settings.
- Establish and maintain classroom management skills conducive to a positive productive and orderly classroom environment.
- Monitor each students progress toward IEP goals and objectives.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state timelines and requirements.
- Remain knowledgeable of educational standards and strategies to meet the academic developmental and social emotional needs of students.
- Participate as a special education evaluation team member.
- Assess and modify instructional practice to increase student communication socialization and preacademic readiness skills.
- Utilize educational technology to support student instruction and learning.
- Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with students peers parents and community.
