Requirements:
- Associate degree in health sciences sports medicine or a related field required (Bachelors preferred).
- One (1) year of related experience (or training in a physician practice or hospital setting) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a healthcare athletics or customer service setting strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal communication skillsboth written and verbal.
- Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders including healthcare providers coaches trainers and students.
- Familiarity with scheduling systems EMR platforms and insurance preauthorization processes is a plus.
Athletic Concierge Responsibilities:
- Help streamline the athletes experience from injury to recovery providing a welcoming and supportive presence throughout the process. Provide exemplary customer service to all studentathletes at all levels.
- Support outreach and relationshipbuilding efforts between Community Hospital and local schools universities and athletic programs.
- Handle all correspondence documentation files and reports in a professional and confidential manner. Provide regular updates to CH providers and Athletic Trainers.
- If releases are obtained provide updates as needed to coaches and parents.
- Receive manage and track all studentathlete referrals from CH providers and Athletic Trainers. Ensure referrals are expedited and managed per applicable contracts. Ensure all relevant demographic information is collected from studentathlete.
- Verify demographic information with studentathlete as needed.
- Verify studentathlete insurance information before appointment is scheduled.
- Followup with studentathlete in a timely and personable manner should information be found to be incorrect/incomplete.
- Elevates issues as appropriate to the supervisor.
- Ensure the studentathlete chart is up to date with all relevant information; gather any missing information as needed.
- Communicate in a professional manner directly with various practice front desk staff/ Managers to ensure studentathletes are scheduled as needed and timely (i.e. Lab Radiology).
- Schedule appropriate services as needed and timely (i.e. MRI).
- For any services that insurance denies work with the Director of WOSM and Community Hospital to approve services. Track all denied services for reporting purposes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Sport Medicine policies and procedures in conjunction with the Chief Development Officer Director of WOSM Director of Grand Valley Rehab and Sports Medicine Medical Director.
- Report all studentathlete and coach complaints to the Chief Development Officer Director of WOSM Director of Grand Valley Rehab and Sports Medicine Medical Director in a timely manner and assist with resolution of the complaint.
- Assist with answering the Athletics Hotline and handling referrals/requests in a timely manner (returning calls within 24 hours; submitting referrals within one day). Accurately maintain Athletics Hotline tracking spreadsheet. Ensure all relevant demographic information is collected from studentathlete/coach/parent.
- Verify demographic information with studentathlete/coach/parent as needed.
- Verify studentathlete insurance information.
- Followup with studentathlete/coach/parent in a timely and personable manner should information be found to be incorrect/incomplete.
- Referral submitted/scheduled.
- Elevates issues as appropriate to the supervisor.
- Work with insurance companies as needed on behalf of the studentathlete.
- Participate in monthly staff meetings to facilitate communication resolve problems and advise staff of updated policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Compensation:
- $21.00 24.15 per hour depending on education and experience.
