The Paralegal for the Contract Development Team is responsible for supporting our legal team by drafting reviewing and revising commercial and other agreements conducting legal and business research and managing various legal projects.

This position is part of the Legal Department located in Brea CA and will be onsite. At Beckman Coulter our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Contract Development Team and report to the Director of NACO Contract Development responsible for overseeing legal operations and ensuring compliance within the contract development process. In this role you will have the opportunity to:
Draft review and revise commercial and other agreements including government contracts RFPs site access agreements BAAs HIPAA Business Associate Agreements and customer disputes.
Conduct legal and business research.
Identify complex legal issues related to assigned matters and propose alternative solutions.
Train commercial sales and service teams on the battle of the forms process.
Develop written procedures and workflow plans for standard operating procedures as required.

The essential requirements of the job include:
BA/BS from an accredited college or university a paralegal certificate from an ABAaccredited school or any equivalent combination of related experience training and/or education.
Five or more years of experience as a paralegal preferably inhouse for a corporation.
Experience with antikickback laws HIPAA and the medical device industry.
Ability to apply analytical skills to interpret data and develop solutions to address a variety of contractrelated issues.
Strong presentation written and verbal communication skills.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Negotiation skills.
Working with outside counsel and interacting with senior management.
Managing projects and meeting tight deadlines.

The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is 100k115k. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
