Position:Librarian/Media Technology Specialist
Location: Nance Elementary
Nance Elementary is seeking a passionate studentcentered School Librarian/Media Technology Specialist to join our team of dedicated educators. Serving PreK through 1st grade our librarian will foster a love of reading provide engaging library and media instruction and ensure that all students have access to inclusive highquality literature and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach engaging library classes for all PreK1st grade students focusing on early literacy digital citizenship and library skills.
- Manage and maintain the school library collection including circulation cataloging and inventory.
- Lead the selection and ordering of new books and media resources with a strong focus on diversity equity and inclusion to reflect and support our student population.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support curriculum goals and integrate literature and technology into classroom instruction.
- Promote a positive reading culture through library events author visits reading challenges and literacy celebrations.
- Manage and support the use of technology in the library/media space and assist with basic tech troubleshooting as needed.
- Stay current with childrens literature media resources and library technology best practices.
Qualifications:
- Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate with Library Media Specialist certification (or eligibility to obtain).
- Experience working with early childhood/primary grade students preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of diverse childrens literature and culturally responsive practices.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- A love for books technology and inspiring young learners.
