The Biobehavioral Health Sciences Department at PENN Nursing (SON) is providing an exciting and unique opportunity in Data Science. This position is in the tenure track of the University of Pennsylvania and at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor depending on the candidates experience.
We are seeking a candidate with a strong scholarly background in data science computer science information technology health informatics computational linguistics/natural language processing or a related discipline. Expertise in conducting analysis of large data sets focused on understanding the biological behavioral or omic underpinnings of health and its application to clinical practice is required.
Excellent communication (written and oral) skills are essential. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills needed. The applicants scholarship should align with the School of Nursings overarching priorities expertise in promoting the health of diverse populations through data science and have demonstrated impact that contributes to the health of individuals families and communities.
We invite PhD prepared scientists (preferably in nursing) to apply to the standing faculty (tenure track) at the junior or midcareer rank. PhD is required; postdoctoral training or academic experience is expected. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
