About this role
Team Overview
BlackRock SMA Solutions helps clients customize portfolios for unique tax values-alignment or investment exposures across direct indexing fixed income active equity and multi-asset. We deliver world-class service to all of our clients from wealth advisors to family offices to endowments and foundations.
About this Role:
We are expanding our team of engineers that owns and operates this extensive data platform. As a member of this team you will build enhance and support a wide variety of data integrations to connect diverse systems and real-time operational workflows. You will work with your team and your stakeholders to ensure data arrives in a complete and timely manner with validated quality.
Requirements:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- At least 3 years of experience as a data integration engineer with medium to large scale systems preferably in a financial services or trading environment
- Solid knowledge of programming fundamentalsalgorithms data structures design patterns and paradigms
- Strong knowledge of one or more modern object-oriented languages (Python Java Go etc.)
- Solid knowledge of SQL and relationship databases (SQL Server PostgreSQL Sybase etc.)
- Knowledge of API design approaches (RESTful GraphQL gRPC)
- Ability to troubleshoot problems in a live environment and provide real time help with critical issues
- Write code that is easily understood and maintainable by other team members
- Keep up to date with developments in technologies we are using
- Ability to communicate and work effectively supporting various business departments
- Ability to work in fast-paced interdisciplinary environment
Desired additional qualifications:
- Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS Azure GCP)
- Experience integration with CRM platforms such as Salesforce MS Dynamics
- Familiarity with RabbitMQ AWS SQS or other messaging technologies
- Familiarity with other structured storage or NoSQL solutions (Cassandra DynamoDB etc.)
- Background in statistical and / or financial analysis
