The University of Mary HardinBaylor Music Department welcomes applications for a fulltime Visiting Instructor position in piano. This position is a ninemonth nontenure track visiting faculty position with consideration for a secondyear renewal based on performance and enrollment. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Applied Piano and other piano related courses as appropriate to the candidates strengths beginning in late July of 2025. UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacherscholars to prepare students for leadership service and faithinformed discernment in a global society.
The Department of Music offers the following undergraduate degrees: Bachelor of Music in Music Education Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance Bachelor of Music in Church Music Bachelor of Arts in Music and Bachelor of Science in Music (with emphases in Music Business Worship Technology or Performance). UMHB is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).
UMHB is conveniently located in Belton an historic town of 22000 in the heart of central Texas. Nearby cities are Temple (7 miles) Waco (42 miles) Austin (60 miles) San Antonio (130 miles) and Dallas/Ft. Worth (130 miles). Faculty Responsibilities: Activities required of all faculty include exemplary teaching curriculum development student recruitment and advising; professional attainment; and service to department college university and the community.
Specific Responsibilities:We seek a dynamic piano instructor to help advance a forwardthinking program that prepares students for the diverse opportunities of todays music profession. Primary responsibilities include teaching Applied Piano Class Piano and Accompanying. Additional assignments may be made based on departmental needs and the candidates qualifications. Visiting positions typically teach 12 credit hours per semester.
