POSITION: Afterschool Enrichment Support 21% (8 hours/week)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to communicate effectively to multiple audiencesin person and remotely
- Willingness to work positively with and mentor youth
- CPR and First Aid Certifications or willing to obtain
- Ability to perform all tasks identified in this job description
Preferred Competencies
- Associates degree or higher
- Experience working with children
- Knowledge of afterschool programs communities and/or positive youth development
REPORTS TO:Enrichment Coordinator/ Building Principal
PURPOSE: To provide and support programs and activities that promote the intellectual physical social and emotional growth of students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain effective communication with the Enrichment Coordinator and/or school personnel.
- Follow direction of Enrichment Coordinator or other manager(s) with respect to Jackson School District policies and procedures and adhere to program requirements.
- Lead participate in and take responsibility for afterschool program activities.
- Assist in recording/managing of student attendance and data.
- Participate in outofschool time program planning and design.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Assist the site coordinator in providing a safe and secure environment for afterschool program participants.
- Implement positive behavioral supports and notify supervisor of any issues.
- Reports all incidents regarding students staff and/or any unauthorized visitors to supervisor.
- Meet with parents students and community members; communicate in a respectful and confidential manner.
- Perform routine first aid and seek assistance for serious illness/injury.
- Participate in professional development and programrelated training activities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:In accordance with the provisions of Jackson NonContracted Employee Personnel Policies.
WORK YEAR:36 weeks during academic year (144 days). Parttime position 8 hours per week.
EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Jackson School Boards policy.
