Accounts Payable Clerk HYBRID FullTime (Edmonton AB)

Role Summary

This position will report to the Manager of Accounts Payable and will work with other Accounts Payable staff in delivering effective timely and efficient services to internal and external clients in accordance with Accounting Departments policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Accurate coding entry and payment of vendor invoices expenditures and employee expenses
  • Processing printing and matching to invoices
  • Vendor Reconciliations
  • Payment processing by both EFT and Cheque
  • Journal entry creation and import to Accounting system
  • Data entry
  • Completing assigned audit requests
  • Month end closure
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Other financial duties as required
  • Month end closure and accrual processing

Qualifications & Experience

  • Completion of high school education
  • Preference will be given to candidates with Accounting Diploma or Degree
  • Minimum 13 years experience in an account payable role on a team for a 2000 employee company
  • Previously demonstrated ability to execute high attention to detail
  • Demonstrated proven organizational skills
  • Previous experience within a dynamic team will be given preference
  • Demonstrated behaviors showing initiative behaviors and followup skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Demonstrated professionalism and work ethics
  • Proven ability to contribute to and work well within a fastpaced and high volume team environment
  • Computer/ Microsoft software literate specifically with strong Excel and intermediate Word skills
  • Must be able to attend the office once per week for cheque printing duties
