ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK II


Summary

The Accounts Payable Clerk II is responsible for performing advanced accounts payable functions including processing invoices reconciling vendor statements and ensuring timely and accurate payments. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in reviewing and entering invoices into the accounting system
  • Help prepare payments via checks ACH or wire transfers
  • Respond to basic vendor inquiries via email or phone
  • Support the reconciliation of vendor statements and payment discrepancies
  • Maintain orderly and up-to-date digital filing system
  • Assist with data entry and other administrative accounting tasks
  • Help ensure compliance with company procedures and financial controls

Requirements

Qualifications and Other Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior accounting staff
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Working hours: The individual will be required to work M-F from 8-5 and possible extended hours based on business needs. They may also need to be available for on-call or emergency situations.

  • Mobility: The Accounts Payable Clerk II should be able to move around the office or reception area comfortably including walking standing and potentially climbing stairs.
  • Vision:/Hearing Good eyesight and visual acuity are important for the position to read and process written information. The individual should have good hearing to effectively communicate with visitors clients and colleagues.
  • Manual dexterity: The individual should possess good manual dexterity to handle various tasks such as operating a phone system computer keyboard and other office equipment efficiently.
  • Lifting: While lifting heavy objects may not be a frequent requirement the individual may occasionally need to handle packages mail or other items of moderate weight.
