The Government of Alberta (GoA) is looking for a Data Analytics Specialist / Data Scientist to join our Data Centre of Excellence. If youre passionate about turning data into insights and shaping smarter public services we want to hear from you.
What Youll Do:

Design and build data products to support the GoA Data Strategy
-
Apply advanced analytics ML and statistical modeling
-
Create dashboards and visualizations to support decisionmaking
-
Collaborate across ministries to develop impactful datadriven solutions
-
Mentor team members and promote a culture of innovation
-
Work with internal and external stakeholders to unlock the value of government data
What Were Looking For:
- 6 years in data analytics or data science
- Strong skills in Python R SQL and predictive modeling
- Experience building analytical models dashboards and data pipelines
- Understanding of privacy data governance and deidentification
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Nice to Have:
-
Experience with big data tools (e.g. Spark Hadoop)

Familiarity with government datasets and crossdomain data linking
Working Conditions:
-
Fully remote (must reside in Canada)

Occasional onsite meetings in Alberta (3 4 times/year)

Must use your own equipment (compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop)
