Are you an experienced operations leader with a passion for creating environments where excellence in education can thrive


Our client are seeks to employ a dynamic Head of Operations to join their senior management team and take the lead in delivering outstanding operational support across their school.


About the Role


The Head of Operations will be responsible for the strategic and daytoday management of all nonacademic functions. This includes overseeing facilities administration compliance support services and contributing to a safe efficient and highfunctioning school environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead facilities management maintenance safety and security of the campus.
  • Oversee administrative systems including timetabling logistics and calendar planning.
  • Coordinate nonacademic HR support: scheduling recruitment assistance and performance tracking.
  • Collaborate with Finance on budgeting procurement and cost control.
  • Drive operational projects such as renovations and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with health safety data protection and educational regulations.
  • Manage supplier relationships and vendor contracts.
  • Support the school s leadership in crisis response strategic planning and stakeholder engagement.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum: Bachelor s Degree in Business Administration or similar.
  • A diploma with extensive relevant experience may be considered.
  • 10 years experience in operations management with 5 years in facilities oversight.
  • Prior experience in an educational setting or school operations is highly desirable.
  • Health & Safety certifications (e.g. OHS First Aid) are a strong advantage.

Strategic Planning & Execution Ability to align operational plans with the school s mission and long-term goals. Facilities & Infrastructure Management Proven experience managing buildings, maintenance, safety protocols, and capital projects. Leadership & Team Management Strong capability in managing diverse operational teams, including non-academic staff. Budgeting & Financial Oversight Skilled in working with finance teams on budgeting, forecasting, and cost efficiency. Project Management Ability to lead renovations, upgrades, and infrastructure initiatives from planning through implementation. Compliance & Risk Management Strong knowledge of regulatory standards, OHS, and school-specific compliance. Health & Safety Expertise Understanding of safety protocols, emergency planning, and health legislation. HR Support (Non-Academic) Coordination of recruitment, scheduling, and performance monitoring for support staff. Vendor & Supplier Management Negotiating and managing service contracts to ensure quality and value. Digital & Systems Proficiency Confident using school management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital planning tools. Crisis Management Calm and competent in handling emergencies, conflicts, and unexpected disruptions. Operational Efficiency Skilled in streamlining systems, logistics, and processes for smoother day-to-day operations. Calendar & Event Coordination Ability to manage term planning, facilities scheduling, and special events logistics. Procurement & Resource Planning Experience managing purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships. Stakeholder Engagement Ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, service providers, and leadership. Policy Development & Implementation Capable of creating, updating, and enforcing school-wide operational policies. Time Management & Prioritization Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities. Analytical & Decision-Making Skills Use data and insight to guide improvements and resolve challenges. Adaptability & Resilience Thrive in a dynamic school setting where priorities shift quickly.
