Job Description

Are You Ready to Lead Sales Excellence Across Northern Nigeria
My Client a top multinational in the FMCG sector is seeking an experienced Head of Sales in the North to spearhead commercial operations drive revenue growth and strengthen market leadership in the northern region.

What You ll Do
  • Develop & Execute Sales Strategy: Craft and implement annual sales and distribution plans budgets and revenue targets tailored to northern Nigeria s unique market dynamics.
  • Lead a High Performance Team: Mentor and manage multiple Sales Supervisors and their teams; use a robust Performance Management Plan to close skill gaps and build succession pipelines.
  • Key Account & Negotiation: Establish and maintain productive relationships with major customers and distributors; lead commercial negotiations pricing shelf space promotions to secure market share and profitability.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing Product Development Supply Chain and Finance to ensure brand consistency efficient resource utilization and streamlined route to market operations.
  • Market Intelligence & Analytics: Gather and analyze competitive and consumer data; prepare monthly quarterly and annual forecasts; use insights to refine sales tactics inventory allocation and promotional grids.
  • Customer Acquisition & Retention: Identify new market opportunities and potential customers; develop creative data driven solutions to meet client needs and expand the customer base.
  • Operational Governance: Uphold company policies legal standards and ethical practices; manage regional promotion logistics to exceed both internal and customer expectations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track key sales metrics volume revenue margins and initiate corrective actions to stay within agreed financial parameters.
  • Culture & Engagement: Promote the organization s values reward high performance and foster loyalty through transparent communication and recognition programs.

Requirements

Who You Are
  • Educational & Professional Credentials: Postgraduate qualification in Sales Marketing or Business Management is preferred along with relevant certifications.
  • Proven Sales Leader: At least 10 years of sector specific sales experience in FMCG or related industries including significant management responsibility.
  • Strategic Thinker & Executor: Demonstrated success in crafting and executing sales strategies that consistently meet or exceed quotas.
  • Inspirational Manager: Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of developing and retaining top talent in fast paced environments.
  • Analytical Expertise: Highly proficient in performance metric analysis strategic sales planning and route to market optimization.
  • Outstanding Communicator: Fluent in stakeholder management negotiation and presenting complex insights clearly to senior leadership.
  • Integrity & Resilience: Rigorous autonomous and proactive with strong ethical standards and an ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Open to candidates of Indian Arab or Lebanese descent with a strong history of trade success in Northern Nigeria
