Job Description

This project role which is expected to run through end of Q1 2027 will report to the VP Core Operations and will be responsible for identifying developing and leading multiple crossfunctional strategic initiatives across the Controllers organization that require significant accounting financial reporting and business technology skills and expertise. This position will have responsibility for leading colleagues and stakeholders in the implementation of these projects/initiatives in a matrixed capacity. Specific responsibilities of this position include:

  • Provide thought leadership and guidance in the identification analysis and execution of continuous improvement process optimization centralization and standardization initiatives
  • Lead efforts related to technology changes and/or implementations
  • Drive process definition reengineering improvement and gap analysis of current/futurestate processes in partnership with Controllers teams and other functional partners (Commercial PGS R&D and Enabling Finance Corporate Governance Investor Relations Tax Treasury GBS etc.)
  • Ensure process efficiencies leveraging innovative digital technology and analytical solutions
  • Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders on strategic projects utilizing exceptional problem solving business partnering communication presentation and analytical skills
  • Support Controllers innovation agenda by championing and coordinating the identification of optimization and automation solutions across Controllers accounting and reporting functions
  • Ensure process/system changes identified and implemented are in compliance with Pfizer accounting / internal control policies SOX and other regulatory requirements
  • Serve as liaison with internal and external audit regarding process/system changes ensuring alignment potential issue identification and remediation
  • Maintain and develop relationships with Pfizer business partners as well as within GBS as required

How You Will Achieve It

  • Lead operational implementation of large organizational strategic initiatives impacting Controllers financial close and reporting processes
  • Actively partner with Digital and technology partners to identify develop and execute strategies and opportunities to standardize innovate and optimize Controller financial close and reporting processes
  • Ensure that the initiatives are aligned with Controllers Finance Investor Relations and Pfizers strategic goals
  • Serve as Controllers liaison to GBST&PM centralized PMO to monitor and communicate the status of all Controllers strategic optimization initiative projects
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement eliminate low value work; finds ways to improve performance with fewer resources
  • Proactively identify business partner needs and mobilize teams to address opportunities resolve problems and/or improve current processes/systems and relationships
  • Provide continued tactical leadership to inflight and planned strategic initiatives
  • Partner with Controllers leadership and RMC to ensure impacts of strategic initiatives on internal controls compliance and governance are remediated as necessary
  • Ensure cross functional awareness of Controllers strategic initiatives including impacts if any
  • Lead the development communication and implementation of Controllers (accounting and financial reporting) benchmarking improvement opportunities and best practices
  • Coordinate as necessary with RM&C KPMG and Corporate Audit on impacts of Controllers strategic initiatives
  • Build effective and positive partnerships across Finance functional groups (Controllers Commercial R&D PGS and Enabling Finance OP&A Treasury Global Tax) Corporate Governance Investor Relations and Digital

Required Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in accounting Finance or Business Administration
  • CPA or equivalent international certification
  • 15 years experience of accounting or finance in a Corporate Finance Financial Reporting Shared Services and/or Public Accounting
  • Proven experience managing large scale crossfunctional projects such as migrations process improvement/optimization/design and standardization initiatives
  • Experience in evaluating business and process risks and implementing controls
  • Experience collaborating with cross functional stakeholders such as Controllers Finance Tax Treasury Investor Relations Corporate Governance PGS GBS etc.

Technical Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements which enables participation in a broad spectrum of accounting/financial reporting tasks/projects
  • SAP FCCS Workiva and other financial reporting platform knowledge
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Excel Word PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working with Agile teams
  • Experience with process design optimization and standardization
  • Experience with implementation of process optimization and business process automation technology solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse groups and individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to summarize analytical findings into meaningful insights and actionable items
  • Ability to lead multiple stakeholders in a matrixed environment on a common goal cross functional collaboration skills
  • Adaptable energetic curious and motivated to tackle challenging problems
  • Promotes inclusion and diversity of thought
  • Ability to identify business issues/opportunities and to frame business questions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters/MBA
  • Experience as Process Lead/Owner
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
  • Relevant pharmaceutical experience

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $169700.00 to $282900.00. In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
