Job Description
SAITs Information Technology Services department handles all software and hardware needs as well as technological and networking issues for both employees and students who rely heavily on computer systems across our campuses. Technical support which includes help with computer hardware and software technical problems email audiovisual needs and more is available to everyone at SAIT whether the problem occurs at home or oncampus.

The Role
- System Administration:
- Operating Systems (Windows Linux VMware)
- System/service monitoring
- Identity management (e.g. MS Active Directory Linux IDM)
- Life cycle management of server/storage/data protection
- Backup/restore system administration
- Printing services (e.g. print queues Pcounter Blackboard)
- SAN/VSAN Service/Monitoring (Dell EMC VxRail)
- vCenter administration
- Break/fix
- Security Administration:
- Operating System patch management
- Firmware
- Code upgrade
- Antivirus
- PCI (e.g. server standards FIM DUO etc.)
- Systems hardening
- Systems Provisioning:
- Server
- Storage
- Infrastructure hardware
- Some academic applications management (e.g. Document Management Opera POS application license key SSL certificates etc.)
- System Design and Deployment:
- Infrastructure solution design
- Some application information gathering and application solution design & deployment5% / 100%
- Miscellaneous:
- Project resource
- Documentation
- Other duties as assigned by management
- Members of department committees (e.g. Health and Safety Social etc.)15% / 100%
Qualifications & Experience
- 2 year diploma in the field of information technology programming computer management or related technical area
- 2 years experience working as a part of an Enterprise Server Infrastructure team
- Degree in computer science information technology computer engineering or related fieldpreferred
- 5 years experience working as a part of an Enterprise Server Infrastructure Team preferred
- Microsoft certified professional (server) preferred
- Microsoft Certified System Engineer preferred
- Red Hat Linux Certified System Administration preferred
- VMware Certified Professional preferred
Job Classification: P2064 Technical Systems Analyst I
Salary Range: $75000 $82000
Paid Leave: 4 Weeks Vacation/14 Flex Days per year
Hours Per Week: 37.5
