Job Description

Introduction

Are you starting your career in mental health or looking to take the next step in a supportive communityfocused setting
The Rosewood Centre is currently seeking a passionate and skilled Provisional Psychologist Registered Psychologist Clinical Psychologist or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker to join our Counselling and Clinical Services Team in Taree with flexibility to work parttime or fulltime.

In this role youll provide therapeutic assessments and interventions along with preventative educational programs for individuals couples and families. Services are delivered both facetoface and via telephone counselling including crisis support. To be successful in this position you will need to be competent and confident in undertaking psychological assessments and able to apply your clinical judgement in a range of contexts with professionalism and care.

Youll work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team under the supervision of the Executive Therapeutic Manager with opportunities for learning development and broad client exposure across the Newcastle Hunter and Manning regions.

Skills And Experiences

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

  • Experience in a mental health/counselling setting
  • A commitment to work within the Mission Vision and Values of CatholicCare
  • Relevant experience in or capability to provide individual family or relationship counselling to clients across the lifespan
  • Experience in or willingness to provide a variety of psychometric and other assessments (such as autism assessments cognitive achievement and developmental assessments)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of counselling theory and practice
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including: the ability to build rapport with clients; the ability to create a positive client/customer experience in and outside of the counselling room
  • Ability and/or experience working in a fast paced clinical environment
  • Ability to complete all sessions in a timely manner according to best practice (Desirable)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Provisional registration as a psychologist with AHPRA
  • Current drivers licenceand willingness to use own vehicle with comprehensive vehicle insurance.
  • Current Working With Children Check
