Job Description
OCES is looking for a dedicated Protective Services Worker (PSW) to work in our Protective Services department to investigate and substantiate allegations of abuse and neglect in the elder community.
Monday through Friday with flexible schedule options hybrid work environment (remote and in office requirements)
What youll do:
- Promote the independent functioning of members and provide services in the most appropriate least restrictive environment
- Conduct home visits to complete assessments regarding reports of abuse. Travel involved in OCES catchment area.
- Conduct investigations and evaluate the functional capacity situation and resources of the elder
- Develop and implement appropriate protective services plan to alleviate risk and abuse
- Determine whether a petition to the court for a Protective Order exists and refer situations involving serious abuse to the appropriate District Attorney
- Provide emergency PS department coverage during nonbusiness hours
What youll bring:
- Your passion for helping others and desire to make a difference
- Adaptability to be able to change as the needs of consumers and/or programs change
- At least two years of experience in the human services field preferably with the elder population and/or crisis intervention
- Bachelors degree in Social Work or related field highly preferred; Current licensure if appropriate
- Reliable transportation needed.
- Bilingual preferred
