Job Summary:
Burnoff Operators run one of three different burnoff machines cutting the remainder of the yarn off the tubes that did not get used or that had quality issues.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Burn off tubes in a consistent manner.
- Recognize material being burned off and communicate to LTOs so appropriate tickets can be made.
- Determine yarn quality segregate and aspirate yarn packages as necessary.
- Fill in as creeler if necessary and/or other positions.
- Keep both the Beaming Supervisor and Beaming Manager informed of any problems or issues helping to minimize waste in a particular area.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Maintain and use basic tools of the job properly: safety glasses ear plugs cut gloves etc.
Performance Expectations (if applicable):
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Capable of standing on concrete floor throughout shift
- Walking stooping and reaching over bobbin buggies for long periods of time
- Must be able to withstand working in a busy and hot environment
- Must be handson and have a mechanical aptitude
Experience/Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to read and write and do basic addition subtraction division and multiplication.
- Computer knowledge or data entry skills are preferred.
- To be able to operate a lift truck and complete necessary lift truck training is preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Overtime is required on occasion.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- All accidents must be reported immediately.
- Do daily machine safety checklist
- Responsible for quality and safety of his/her own output.
