Job Description

The Oxford Hills School District is seeking excellent candidates for the position ofSocial Worker for Paris Elementary School in South Paris ME. This Position is to start with the 2025/ 2026 School Year.

Paris Elementary School is located in South Paris and serves approximately 400 students in grades PreK6. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with their colleagues to encourage inspire and support the learning process for all students.

Candidates must hold a valid Maine LCSW LMSWcc LCPC or LCPCc license.

  • Must be able to build positive relationships with students and staff and work well as part of a team.
  • Experience with children and adolescents with mental health and behavioral needs is preferred.
  • A deep understanding of child development and social emotional learning is required.

Reports to: Building Administrator and Director of Special Education

Work Schedule: 180 Day Contract

Start: 2025/2026 School Year

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The clinician will provide direct services to the general education population and students requiring such services per their IEP. The clinician will provide consultation to classroom and special education teachers to address the students identified social emotional and behavioral needs.
  • This position requires the clinician to be an active member of a special education team engage in home/school communication and maintain accurate data and records that are relevant to planning implementation and evaluation of school social work services.
  • The clinician will demonstrate the core values of service social justice importance of human relationships dignity and worth of the student integrity and competence. The clinician will adhere to the professional ethics and values in their code of ethics as a guide to ethical decision making.
  • The clinician will have knowledge of and comply with all local state and federal mandates related to informed consent privacy and confidentiality.
  • The clinician has skills and knowledge for effective clinical intervention and understands and utilizes evidencedinformed practices.

The Oxford Hills School District (MSAD 17) comprises the towns ofNorwaySouth ParisWest ParisOxfordWaterfordHarrisonHebronandOtisfield.MSAD 17 shares vocational resources and accepts students in its Oxford Hills Technical School programs from the RSU10 School District towns of Buckfield Hartford and Sumner. Oxford Hills/Nezinscot Adult Education is located within the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

The Oxford Hills offer a variety of outdoor resources for anyone wishing to enjoy the region whatever the season.
