Job Description

Overview

This position is located at the Child Care Resource Office (formerly Care About Childcare) on the Utah State University campus in Logan Utah. The Child Care Resource Agencys mission is to supporting child care providers and programs parents and the community to improve the quality of child care services across Cache Box Elder and Rich Counties.

As the face of the Care About Childcare agency this front office position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills along with a warm welcoming and professional demeanor. The work is varied and dynamic including responsibilities such as database management and troubleshooting general office tasks scheduling participating in community events organizing and maintaining materials and setting up and cleaning up for both inoffice and communitybased activities.

This is an inperson position and is not eligible for remote work as it includes greeting visitors and managing the agencys busy main phone line. The successful candidate must be dependable and punctual with consistent ontime attendance to ensure excellent support for staff providers and families. Some evening and Saturday hours are required.

Responsibilities

Child Care Market Rate Survey Whole Record Updates and Database Technical Assistance and Web page 50%:

  • Support programs and child care providers in the use of the CAC DWS USU and licensing websites
  • Implement and administer services relating to Live Scan Fingerprint to caregivers.
  • Conduct all relevant activities associated with the statewide Market Rate Survey and Whole Record Updates including timelines and policies set by funders.
  • Maintain and develop the Child Care Resource Agencywebsite that follows USU standards and policies.

Child Care Referrals and Parent Activities 40%:

  • Provide free comprehensive childcare referral services to consumers seeking information about the availability of all early childcare and education.
  • Schedule and hold inperson or virtual meetings and training for parents and child care providers.
  • Follow all policies and procedures for state and local programs from the Utah Office of Child Care.
  • Provide information and resources to families and childcare providers on the availability and importance of programs and services that support families with young children.

Other duties as assigned including working with USU fiscal accounting and other systems 10%

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A current CDA (Child Care Development Associates) or an associate degree or higher in child development education business management or related field is required.
  • Two years experience working in a child care program either licensed center or licensed family child care.
  • Excellent computer and phone skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years or more of experience in an office setting or owning/director of a child care program.
  • Database management.
  • Participation in Utahs Child Care Quality Programs such as the Career Ladder or the Child Care Quality System.
  • Completed courses taught by the Care About Child Care agencies.
  • Experience working with USU systems such as Pcards EZ Buy and website development.
  • Spanish speaking.

Advertised Salary

Minimum $33350; Commensurate with experience plus excellent benefits.
