Court of Protection Protecting Finances Promoting Wellbeing
This is a varied and interesting role with a range of duties which ensures that the best interest of our clients is served at all times and that their money is used to give them the best possible quality of life.
As a Deputyship Officer you will manage a caseload distributed by the Team Manager and be authorised to make decisions relating to the property and finances of the service users. This includes decisions relating to day to day finances debts investments property sales and entering into and/or terminating tenancies. You will liaise with the clients their carers and other professionals in accordance with the code of practice.
You will be responsible for submitting applications to the Court of Protection for the Council to become a clients deputy for property and affairs. You will work with the Court of Protection and submit annual reports to the Office of the Public Guardian in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
With the chance to gain a recognised qualification through the Association of Public Authority Deputies (APAD) this role offers a clear path to personal and professional growth.
Although this role is based in Trowbridge you will be required to travel around Wiltshire and outlying areas.
With a customer focused approach to your work you should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the confidence to work independently.
