Midas Hospitality is seeking a Regional Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for the oversight of larger projects within their assigned area and oversee the training and mentorship of all Chief Engineers. They will provide guidance on indoor air quality regulations building codes swimming pools energy management technology landscaping and preventive maintenance.


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Building

    • Responsible for providing guidance and training to hotel staff on the mechanical life/safety electrical and plumbing operations.

    • Verify scheduled maintenance and repair projects are completed.

    • Offer insight and suggestions in regard to but not limited to upgrading mechanical systems building renovations swimming pool ADA compliance and hotel improvements.

    • Assist hotels in bidding projects

    • Provide vendor recommendations

    • Provide insight on repair vs replace

    • Conduct quarterly preventative maintenance inspections and work order reviews.

  • Corporate

    • Develop implement and improve procedures related to Chief Engineer position with approval of DME.

    • Weekly one on one with DME to review activities update projects concerns suggestions etc.

    • Onsite during commissioning of newly acquired hotels/ new builds

  • Mentorship/Training

    • Works with GMs to provide training and development to on property engineering team aimed at expanding their capabilities.

    • Perform 2 audits per hotel per year using Midas form. Share with GM and DME when completed.

    • Oversees training and support aimed at expanding the capabilities of the operations and maintenance staff.

    • Develop and deliver training methods materials and programs relative to building operating standards.

    • Understands the engineering design and operations aspects of building systems and equipment.

    • Identify cost savings opportunities within the maintenance program.

    • Assist as needed onsite maintenance staff in the diagnosis of problems and repairs in the areas of HVAC electrical plumbing dry walling and more.

    • Backfill for chief Building Engineer(s) as needed (i.e. on PTO open position etc.)

  • Project Management

    • Oversee the coordination of all technical service providers and vendors in region.

    • Mentor/train Chief Engineers in proper procedure in bidding out project.

    • Monitor staff efforts in the quality and timeliness of preventative maintenance efforts. Oversee the implementation of a comprehensive life safety program including fire drills system testing and regulatory compliance.

    • Analyze energy usage and implement operating strategies to reduce costs.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel engineer position.
  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC electrical and plumbing.
  • UniversalEPA certification a plus but not required.
