ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Northeastern University Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowships Program is a twoyear experiential program designed to advance lifelong learning and the education and training of Pharm.D. graduates. Critical to the success of the program is our ability to prepare Fellows to meet the ongoing workforce needs in various areas of industry.
Our program gives fellows an opportunity to work with our innovative biopharmaceutical industry partners while collaborating with Northeastern University faculty in professional and career development service scholarship and teaching.
In partnership with Northeastern University Alnylam is offering a twoyear US Medical Affairs PharmD fellowship based in Cambridge Massachusetts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
North America Medical Affairs translates and implements the disease and product strategy set at the global level and adapts it to the US healthcare landscape. North America Medical works within a crossfunctional team building tactical alignment with internal partners and delivers on the medical plan. North America Medical directors develop the North America Medical Affairs strategy and tactical plan and play a key role in informing global product development and data generation strategies with perspective of the US and Canada. The team also provides disease and product education to internal stakeholders as well as the external healthcare community. Field medical teams within US Medical engage in scientific discussions with both HCPs and payers to collect and disseminate evolving insights on the external treatment landscape Alnylams clinical trial programs and Alnylam data to inform Alnylam strategy. The North America Medical Affairs Fellow will support the development of the overall Medical Affairs Srategic plan and execution of select tactics depending on the candidates interest (possibilities include but are not limited to: field projects medical communications congress encores data generation attendance at global publications/global evidence generation). The Fellow will also attend the biweekly North America Medical Affairs Matrix meeting. The fellow will also have a chance to shadow MSLs and understand the principles of engagement with HCPs gathering insights and leading scientific discussions. The fellow may also show the North America Medical lead and other internal employees to build a well rounded understanding of Medical Affairs.
Alnylam North America Rare Disease Medical Affairs
Contribute to the annual strategy tactical planning and execution of North America Medical Affairs plans
Understand patient pathways care gaps and HCP education needs in different US geographies and support development of regional field medical plans
Support the medical plan for the ongoing evolution of Alnylam and its products in the Acute Hepatic Porphyria and Primary Hyperoxaluria Type 1 space
Support the development and/or pullthrough of North America specific medical communications publications training materials and other related Medical Affairs projects.
Northeastern University School of Pharmacy
Develop teaching skills through participation in our Teaching and Learning Seminar series
Facilitate small and large group didactic education in partnership with a faculty mentor
Utilize a layered learning model in experiential education by coprecepting students on pharmacy practice experiences including Northeasterns unique coop program
Create present and publish scholarly research through collaborative industry and university relationships
Engage with faculty who participate in various interdisciplinary graduate programs including biotechnology nanomedicine immunology health informatics and drug discovery
Network with local residents and other Northeastern fellows via professional development programs teaching seminars and participation on fellowship committees
QUALIFICATIONS
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited institution eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the US.
Excellent oral and written communication time management and leadership skills ability to work independently and take initiative on a variety of projects at the industry site and Northeastern.
