SR. CUSTOMS BROKERAGE SPECIALIST (STARLINK)

Are you passionate about international trade and customs compliance Do you thrive in fastpaced environments where no two days are the same Were looking for a Sr. Customs Brokerage Specialistto take charge of our import/FTZ operations ensuring seamless global transactions and compliance with international regulations. If youre detailoriented love problemsolving and want to make a direct impact on global supply chains this is the role for you! As part of our team youll be at the heart of our import operationsmanaging imports navigating customs regulations and ensuring compliance with international trade laws. Youll collaborate with customs brokers freight forwarders and government agencies keeping our supply chain running smoothly and efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage daily import activities and coordinate with customs brokers vendors couriers and freight forwarders.
  • Determine accurate import/export classifications and ensure adherence to countryspecific harmonized tariff schedules.
  • Work with government agencies like FDA EPA and CBP while handling duties related to Free Trade Agreements AD/CVD Section 201/301/232 and quota management.
  • Oversee endtoend FTZ processes from daily transactions to auditing records ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor U.S. imports for timely customs clearance and proactively resolve any issues that arise.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports to U.S. Customs and Border Protection and analyze key documents like CF3461 CF7501 and CF7512.
  • Reconcile inventory records between internal systems and thirdparty FTZ systems and conduct audits to maintain impeccable recordkeeping.
  • Assist in reviewing commercial invoices for outbound shipping requests to ensure compliance and accuracy.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree OR 6 of experience working with U.S. Customs and/or other international trade regulatory agencies
  • 6 years of experience of experience classifying Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Classification
  • 2 years of experience working with U.S. Foreign Trade Zones program including compliance and best practices

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated ability to accurately classify goods ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.
  • Indepth experience with U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR) and Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) including the establishment and implementation of comprehensive import/export compliance programs.
  • Strong analytical problemsolving and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and process optimization.
  • Effective written verbal and presentation abilities to clearly convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Skilled in individual negotiations with the ability to build relationships and influence outcomes across internal teams and external partners.
  • Highly detailoriented selfmotivated and capable of thriving in fastpaced dynamic environments with shifting priorities.
  • Familiarity with government agency requirements like FDA EPA and Free Trade Agreements.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail especially when auditing and reviewing documentation.
  • Excellent communication and problemsolving skills youll be working with multiple teams and external partners.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends when needed to meet major milestones
  • This position is based in Hawthorne CA and requires being onsite remote work is not considered

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:
Customs Brokerage Specialist/Senior: $110000.00 $145000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a casebycase basis and may vary based on the following considerations: jobrelated knowledge and skills education and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national (ii) U.S. lawful permanent resident (aka green card holder) (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157 or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158 or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
