Job Description

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a 40bed quaternary care referral center for four states: Washington Alaska Montana and Idaho (WAMI region). Patients cared for are infants up to young adults and have a wide range of clinical conditions. Examples of medical conditions include septic shock acute and chronic respiratory failure diabetic ketoacidosis and metabolic diseases. Our team also manages patients from a wide range of surgical and medical services to include Neurosurgery Solid Organ Transplant Craniofacial/Plastics Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow & Stem Cell Transplant patients. Specialized care provided in the PICU includes cerebral and renal oximetry monitoring highfrequency oscillatory ventilation use of inhaled nitric oxide continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and intracranial pressure monitoring. This also includes extracorporeal life support (ECMO) highly specialized cardiopulmonary support.

Collaborate with Director Clinical Director Physicians and clinical staff to manage assess and enhance the provision of patient care services within the Intensive Care Unit on a 24/7 basis to meet continuous quality improvement customer service programmatic growth and financial requirements supporting the mission of Seattle Childrens Hospital. Develop implement and monitor staffing plans scheduling and staff development to meet current and anticipated needs and to maintain compliance with patient safety and regulatory requirements.

Required Education/Experience:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Bachelors degree in Nursing.

A Masters degree in Nursing may be substituted provided the incumbent also possesses a Bachelors degree in another field.

Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience. Demonstrated leadership experience.

Required Credentials:

Current Washington State RN license.

National certification in a clinical specialty area must be obtained within three years of employment.

Current BLS for Healthcare providers.

A copy of Bachelors degree in Nursing or transcripts indicating attainment of Bachelors degree (or higher) in nursing is to be on record with Human Resources upon hire.

Compensation Range

$126805.00 $190207.00 per year

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on fulltime employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity skills experience and expertise and may vary within the range provided.
