Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience. City of Detroit unlimited refrigeration journeymans license or equivalent journeymans card through Union Local 636 and proof of six years of continuing job related experience dealing specifically with large heating/ventilation/air conditioning systems. In the absence of above credentials individual may possess a State of Michigan mechanical contractors license. Demonstrated working knowledge of cooling towers pumps chilled water coils centrifugal chillers absorption chillers heating systems and their distributions. Experience and working knowledge of DDC building controls. Preferably experience with Honeywell and Automated Logic building control systems. Certified in refrigerant recovery. Candidate must also possess a working knowledge of other trades including electrical and plumbing installations and have ability to perform repairs on these systems. Ability to interpret building schematics related to large building systems. Ability to repair equipment in a professional manner. Ability to work without supervision. Valid vehicle operators license and a driving record acceptable to the university.
