Who you are:
Were seeking an experienced Title Examiner to play a crucial role in the review and processing of title transactions. In this role youll leverage your title expertise to review and analyze title documents resolve title issues prepare closing documents and facilitate the issuance of title policies. Youre a great fit if you have strong communication problemsolving and organizational skills and are excited to bring your title experience to a growing fastpaced environment! This role would ideally work out of our Denver Colorado office but could be done remotely within the United States.
What youll do:
- Review title commitments and reports for requirements exceptions and title defects including but not limited to legal descriptions mortgages judgments and taxes
- Prepare necessary documents for signature to effectively cure title defects
Understand and utilize search documents provided by the abstractor
- Proactively resolve curative issues to ensure clear and marketable title
- Order and manage date downs from data providers to maintain up to date title information
- Collaborate with underwriters to clear complex title issues obtain high liability approval review SDN (Specially Designated Nationals) hits and ensure buyers and sellers are clear of all judgments and liens
- Proof recordable documents and submit them for timely recording
- Issue title policies
- Perform essential clerical duties such as filing answering phones typing forms and corresponding with parties to the transaction
What you bring:
- 2 years of experience in title with a preference for national title experience
- Strong problem solver comfortable working crossfunctionally to identify and troubleshoot questions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills comfortable communicating with customers via phone and email
- Comfort working in a fastpaced highgrowth environment as an individual contributor and in collaboration with internal and external partners
- A high degree of organization while maintaining the flexibility to reprioritize quickly
- Selfmotivated and capable of managing tasks autonomously
- Technical aptitude: proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suites and comfortable learning new systems
- Fluency with escrow and title software ideally Qualia and DataTrace

Our people are our most valuable asset. The annual salary for this role is $65000$75000. Base salary may vary depending on relevant experience skills geographic location and business needs. In addition to base pay Hometap offers equity paid time off health insurance and other benefits.
