Job Description

The Division of Securities protects Ohioans life savings and investments by administering and enforcing the Ohio Securities Act. This includes licensing the professionals who sell products brokersdealers securities salespeople investment advisers and investment adviser representatives and registering products for sale. When Ohio securities laws are violated the division can pursue administrative and civil actions and criminal referrals. The divisions outreach efforts help educate consumers so they avoid becoming victims of financial fraud.

The Administrative Professional 3 (AP 3) is an integral role on the Enforcement team in the Division of Securities. By providing administrative support to the team when securities laws are violated they will make an impact on the lives of Ohioans. Duties of the AP 3 include:

  • Reviewing proofreading and processing subpoenas orders communications memos and other legal documents prepared by enforcement staff.
  • Scheduling hearings court reporters and rooms for hearings and compiling and maintaining the official record for hearings held pursuant to R.C. 1707.12.
  • Coordinating and performing general administrative tasks including maintaining and creating databases preparing documents and criminal referrals correspondence and certificates.
  • Reviewing analyzing compiling retrieving and entering data into Excel spreadsheet online ediscovery platforms and other analytical resources and the STAR Database and the shared drive.
  • Providing secretarial and nonroutine administrative support for Attorney Inspector in division enforcement program regarding case management (e.g. drafting and entering Form U6s on Central Registration Depository for Licensing and Enforcement Sections of Division maintaining the vehicle fleet schedule and preparing and submitting required documentation to the Department of Administrative Services).

30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in secretarial/administrative professional field.

Or completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college; 12 mos. exp. in secretarial/administrative professional field.

Or 12 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 2 16872.

Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
