Job Description
The ideal candidate at minimum must have the following:
OPTION 1:
- 60 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating current IT policies procedures and practices recommending and/or leading IT driven change efforts participating and/or leading activities to achieve project tasks/meet deadlines and performing solutions design
AND
- 12 months experience in the Integration Middleware (e.g. MQ Series XML Gateway Biztalk JSON JBoss Mulesoft etc)
Option 2:
- 42 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating current IT policies procedures and practices recommending and/or leading IT driven change efforts participating and/or leading activities to achieve project tasks/meet deadlines and performing solutions design
AND
- Completion of Associate core program in Computer Science or Information Systems
AND
- 12 months experience in the Integration Middleware (e.g. MQ Series XML Gateway Biztalk JSON JBoss Mulesoft etc)
Option 3:
- 36 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating current IT policies procedures and practices recommending and/or leading IT driven change efforts participating and/or leading activities to achieve project tasks/meet deadlines and performing solutions design
AND
- Completion of undergraduate core program in Computer Science or Information Systems
AND
- 12 months experience in the Integration Middleware (e.g. MQ Series XML Gateway Biztalk JSON JBoss Mulesoft etc)
Or
- Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Pay Information
This position is in the State of Ohios OCSEA Pay Schedule Pay Range 36. Unless required by legislation or union contract starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1 currently $42.74 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.

What Youll Do
As a Middleware Administrator you will be an influential technical leader with deep middleware & DevOps expertise and a collaborative style that promotes a culture of innovation and well managed excellence. You will be responsible for directing monitoring and managing middleware technology across several platforms including (but not limited to):
- Virtualized Infrastructure running various Unix Linux and AIX operating systems.
- Redhat OpenShift Containerization Platform
- IBM WebSphere (Traditional WAS Liberty Hybrid)
- Adobe AEM
- Mulesoft Anypoint Platform
- Highly available vertical / horizontal scaling disaster recovery capabilities
- Single Sign On network load balancer firewall IP subnets.
- OnPrem monitoring tools like Splunk Dynatrace
- Cloud monitoring capabilities like Azure Monitor
- CI/CD pipelines: Ansible Jenkins Nexis Mavin Bitbucket etc.)
- Version control subsystem like: Git Subversion etc.
Websphere
- Perform upgrades patches and fix security issues.
- Monitor application performance system performance troubleshoot and diagnose issues and implement fixes.
- Work closely with the development teams to design solutions deploy and maintain application.
- Install configure and deploy new WebSphere application servers on AIX and Linux
- Write and deploy shell scripts automate tasks.
- Troubleshoot collaborate with crossfunctional teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Participate in defining corporate implementation and integration strategies of new technologies.
Cloud Management
- Work with cloud platforms Azure AWS or Google Cloud.
- Deploy and manage application in a cloud environment.
- Work with cloud vendors and cloud hosting service providers and recommend infrastructure solutions.
Schedule:8 hour shift between 7am6pm as determined in consultation with supervisor Monday through Friday. This position will be required to work outside normal work hours and scheduled shift in the event of emergencies and service outages.
Travel:No regular travel expected.
