Due to internal movements and promotions we have an exciting opportunity to join the University of Newcastles large finance team on a 12month fixedterm contract through to June 2026. As a Finance Business Partner youll work closely with business units to support financial planning budgeting and forecastingdelivering insights that inform strategic decisionmaking.
The Role
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Prepare budgets forecasts financial models and variance analyses to support decisionmaking and resource allocation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build effective relationships with diverse teams providing financial advice and building financial literacy among leaders with nonfinancial backgrounds.
- Business Cases and Capital Evaluation: Prepare business cases and evaluations to support effective resource management.
- MonthEnd and Reporting: Conduct monthend reviews performance reporting and provide indepth analysis and insights.
- System Support and Change Management: Support nonfinance users during process improvements and system rollouts including Tech One.
This fulltime role is based at our Callaghan Campus on Awabakal and Worimi land with hybrid work flexibility (up to 40% workfromhome).

About You
You will bring:
- A degree in accounting business or related field.
- Progress towards postgraduate qualifications or extensive relevant professional experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey financial concepts to nonfinance stakeholders.
- Experience providing strategic financial support in complex organisations.
- A commitment to fostering a safe and respectful workplace.
Desirable:
- CPA/CA ANZ membership or progress towards it.
- Technology One experience.
