Job Description

Compli LLC was founded in 2001 to provide Commissioning Validation and Regulatory Support Services to the Life Sciences industry.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking a contract Maintenance Manager to join our growing AMR Services team. The successful candidate will assist our client in the Southwest by providing thorough and sound Maintenance Management mentoring and direction. This position will require being onsite fulltime to support the clients Maintenance operation and is a temporary replacement need.
  • The successful candidate will ensure Maintenance personnel are working safely and accurately while effectively troubleshooting repairing and maintaining the sites facility/utility and production assets.

  • Strategically focus on improving the future state of the site Maintenance organization while tactically overseeing the daily Maintenance workforce and equipment challenges.

Essential Functions:

  • The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall safe efficient and effective operation of the plant Maintenance function by performing the following duties:

    • Manage daytoday facility operations in accordance with USP GxP NFPR and other code agencies.
    • Ensure all local utilities are in functioning order and GxP/USP regulatory compliance.
    • Manage all staff contractors and vendors.
    • Ensure all PMs work orders and PRs are completed as scheduled.
    • Manage local staff and resources to ensure the facility is in audit ready compliance at all times.
    • Manage all repairs construction or other enhancements to all 5 facilities across San Antonio.
    • Inspect and HVAC Gaseous and other critical utilities to ensure all codes regulatory and other compliance items are addressed.
    • Interact with local directors managers and service line leaders to address needs as they arise.
    • Provide leadership and direction of both salaried and hourly personnel.
    • Participate in the employment process from screening interviewing hiring onboarding training coaching disciplining promoting and/or termination of employment.
    • Ensure the concept of working safely is wellcommunicated throughout the Maintenance team.
    • Cultivate a culture of teamwork accountability and continuous improvement.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Technical school or Engineering bachelors degree: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred however the equivalent combination of education/experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of seven years of related work experience as a Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a cGMP pharmaceutical life sciences facility.
  • Ability to support site audits from the FDA EPA etc.

Technical Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in MS Office software (Excel Outlook PowerPoint) required
  • Familiarity with Pivot Tables and VLook ups
  • Proficient in the use of Maintenance CMMS or EAM systems like IBM Maximo SAP PM/S4Hana Oracle/JDE eMaint Mainsaver etc.
  • Familiarity with report writing tools such as Business Objects and Power BI is also preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of common facility production and R&D processes such as mechanical refrigeration lubrication pneumatic hydraulic electrical automation WFI RO and utilities.
  • Knowledgeable of typical manufacturing equipment such as motors pumps gear reducers conveyors boilers air handlers cooling towers transformers MCCs etc.
  • Ability to read blueprint schematics and single line diagrams.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and adhere to the companys safety policies and procedures as described in the site company safety manual.
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen with a P&L understanding.
  • Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence with Senior Leadership.

Physical Demands:

  • The employee is regularly required to use their vision as well as hands and fingers to handle parts and to accomplish data entry tasks.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hearing to answer the telephone and to receive instructions from their supervisor and requests from internal Maintenance employees.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand walk sit and reach.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance to stoop kneel or crouch.
  • The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
