Project/Position Overview:This project will replace the obsolete water treatment and distribution system in King Salmon Alaska. The final treatment method will provide up to 10000 gallons per day of potable water and can provide structural fire suppression for an 11room dorm eight housing units and the maintenance building inKing Salmon Alaska. The new water system will be easier to operate and will provide filtration and treatment to mitigate high levels of iron and manganese in the raw water. A backup generator will be replaced and relocated to a weatherized cabinet outside the building and away from the water treatment system. Treated water lines will be extended a short distance to a fire hydrant outside the parks Marina building. This Marina building is currently serviced by a lowcapacity untreated well which will be abandoned.
Responsibilities and Duties:- Provide technical assistance and support to CO during construction.
- Read interpret and understand the construction contract plans and specifications.
- Arrange attend and facilitate a variety of meetings including weekly meetings at the project site.
- Document issues encountered and problems experienced with the construction contractor.
- Review contractors baseline and progress schedules.
- Draft project related correspondence for NPS to review.
- Understand and document inspections during and post construction as well as mockup inspections.
- Inspect the work of the construction contractor for progress workmanship quality and conformance with contract documents applicable building codes and safety standards.
- Deliver reports reviews evaluations design work etc. to CO.
- Review and process Construction Contractors RFIs and assist in resolution draft response tracking and follow up.
Required Education Knowledge and Skills:- Education and professional qualifications related to construction architecture and engineering scope/quality control scheduling change orders communication risk management skills and CM certification or demonstrated experience of CM.
- Knowledge and experience with similar projects in cold climate construction foundations water treatment and water service connections.
- Minimum of OSHA 30hour construction safety training preferred.
- Knowledge of cost estimating with breakdown of labor materials and equipment costs for proposed construction contract modifications.
- Ability to evaluate payment requests.
- Ability to read and interpret plans schedules and other specifications.
- Written and verbal communication problemsolving and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of software including MS Teams MS Word MS Excel Adobe Acrobat ProjectTeam Primavera MS Project and any other software programs typically utilized.
- Ability to maintain a valid drivers license.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fastpaced work environment.
- Ability to walk and climb stairs or ladders on a daily basis to observe and inspect contract performance.
- Prior experience working with Federal Government Project Managers/CORs on processing change orders requests for information submittals and field observation reports.
