    ABOUT THIS ROLE

    Job Title: Money advisor/Trainee

    Reporting to: Team lead

    Salary: SP.84 SP.37 per annum pro rata

    Hours: 30 hours per week

    Duration: Fixed term until October 2026

    Base: Accrington/Preston/Blackpool

    Please note that a qualified money advisor is preferred for this role but dependant on the candidates experience we are open to training.

    Overview

    Join our dedicated advice team to make a meaningful impact on peoples lives. As our service continues to expand and evolve we seek an enthusiastic driven and empathetic advisor to apply for this role. You will work closely with our existing money advisers to deliver diverse services. Continuous training and personal development are fundamental to success in this role ensuring that you are wellequipped to meet the needs of our service users.

    In line with GOQ SINGLE SEX ESTABLISHMENTS (s7(2)(d)) this post is open to female candidates only.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    To provide facetoface advice to empower service users with effective debt support and options resolve benefit issues and improve energy efficiency.

    Support service users with comprehensive budgeting assistance and financial health checks to ensure service users are wellinformed and confident in their

    decisions.

    Arrange home visits with the Lancashire Women handy person to implement practical energysaving solutions.

    Directing service users to other services within Lancashire Women including our employment advice team and the mental health and

    wellbeing team.

    Attending networking and community events to promote the Advice teams services and educate people on topics such as energysaving measures local initiatives debt options and budgeting advice.

    To provide workshops for service users that empower them to make positive money and energy savings decisions. These workshops will support their immediate financial and mental wellbeing while equipping them with the tools to manage their longterm financial future more effectively.

    To effectively manage personnel caseloads and schedules utilise SharePoint Excel Outlook and our CRM system. This ensures that all client records are updated promptly and we meet the relevant targets and objectives for the role and the wider team

    • Utilise CRM systems for efficient analysis and management of information.
    • Adhere to GDPR information security policies and procedures and relevant codes of conduct for practitioners keeping them current.
    • Ensure that health and safety standards are consistently maintained.
    • Work flexibly and provide support to team members as needed.
    • Always uphold the policies and ethos of Lancashire Women.
    • Undertake additional duties as required in alignment with the nature of the role

    PERSON SPECIFICATION

    Qualifications

  • Driving license (and vehicle) or willingness to travel to Lancashire Womens centres when necessary. (Desirable)
  • Cert Map Qualification and either: 3 Years Debt Advice experience (previous professional membership) or 3 years of Benefit Advice experience within the last 7 years. (Essential)
  • Working with vulnerable people (Essential)
  • NEA level 3 in energy awareness or willing to train towards it. (Desirable)
  • Skills & Understanding

  • Good communication and people skills (Essential)
  • Good everyday maths skills (Essential)
  • Good Microsoft skills and attention to detail (Essential)
  • Personal Attributes

  • Well organised and apt in problemsolving (Essential)
  • Good knowledge of towns and places in Lancashire (Desirable)
