About Us:

Tasc National is a beacon of legal and social justice services in southern Queensland with offices in Toowoomba Ipswich and Wide Bay. We are dedicated to driving change and making a positive impact on society.

At the heart of service excellence as a /Senior Social Justice Advocate you will:

Provide highlevel advocacy social work advice information and casework support to programeligible community members facing complex issues requiring advanced skills beyond those of an Advocate or Social Worker.

Key Responsibilities

Take a lead role in shaping and delivering the strategy and content of community education programs.

Contribute to the development and implementation of a Community Engagement Plan for Social Justice Services.

Deliver prevention and awareness education to community members and service providers and promote awareness of the services offered by Tasc.

Identify opportunities for Tasc to develop targeted resources for key stakeholder groups.

Undertake advanced advocacy on behalf of individuals with disabilities or mental health conditions.

Empower clients by increasing their understanding of their rights responsibilities and entitlements.

Demonstrate innovation adaptability and empathy in solving complex problems.

Inspire and support colleagues uphold our values and contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Advocate for the protection and promotion of human rights in all aspects of your work

This Senior Social Justice Advocate position is offered at L5 of the SCHADS Award ($). However we encourage applicants of all experience levels to apply. While this role is designed for a higher skill level we may consider candidates with less experience. The classification level offered will reflect the successful applicants overall experience and capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV Diploma or Degree in Disability Human Services Psychology Social Work or Community Services (or a similar field).
  • Eligibility to obtain a Positive Notice for Working with Children and a positive notice from Disability Services Queensland.
  • A current unrestricted class QLD drivers license.
