Position Purpose
Under the supervision of the User Support Group Leader responsible for providing the level 1 daytoday support for users calling into the Help Desk with issues. The User Support Group is the single point of contact in order to facilitate the timely and accurate resolution of all DRPA employees computer and telecommunications inquiries problems and requests. The Administrator is dedicated to personalized quality support services to DRPAs internal customers in order to maximize employees efficiency and productivity in accomplishing the DRPAs mission and goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides information by answering questions and requests.
- Provide technical assistance to clarify and resolve specific user problems.
- Define and evaluate support issues and offer resolutions or recommend training.
- Identify the best approach to meet user needs e.g. unique local applications use/ development of shared centralized databases.
- Evaluate and recommend software packages based on user needs.
- Prepare implement and monitor detailed information system projects identifying tasks schedules required staff and computer resources.
- Assist in automating administrative tasks.
- Assist in developing recommendations for establishment of DRPA computer resources system projects and related matters for an effective Information Services operation.
- Keeps abreast of current developments in the field of personal computing and office automation and provides appropriate recommendations for the DRPA system improvements and enhancements.
- Research and evaluate software packages.
- Automate and standardize DRPA forms.
- Define and automate repetitive tasks.
- Resolve user challenges.
- Gather load extract and schedule input data.
- Execute object programs and maintain the respective operational processing logs.
- Runs predefined ad hoc queries and provides output to users.
- Performs application testing including test plan development execution and results reporting.
- Documents procedures for using systems and applications.
- Perform database backups and recoveries; maintain the required audit trails of the processes.
- Control verification of output with subsequent report distribution.
- Perform minor preventive maintenance and routine housekeeping tasks; troubleshoot hardware/software problems and provide support to vendors relative to hardware /software maintenance.

Education and/or Experience
Required:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Associates degreeOR equivalent work experience.
- 3 years experience involving the use review and analysis of automated office systems with an emphasis on the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
- Proficiencyin relevant personal computer software such as Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Interpersonal communication skills are essential in this position and the ability to view the user community as our clients/customers which fosters good customer relations.
- Must be sensitive and patient when dealing with our customers. This approach will help the user understand their system objectives and will enable them to continue to maximize their productivity through office automation.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to sit (85%). The employee is required to stand and walk (10%) and lift climb bend (5%). Must be able to perform all position functions. Must be able to physically operate all job related equipment to position functions. The employee must maintain a neat and clean appearance.
