As part of our Manufacturing team youll help build the worldclass stateoftheart smart vehicles were known for. This position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to PTME and delivering New Model Powertrain Programs. The PTME organizations belief is ONE Manufacturing Best in the World The industry benchmark for Manufacturing with an aspiration to deliver Lean Flexible and Competitive Manufacturing Systems for Production of Propulsion Technologies that Power our Winning Portfolio Globally. We are seeking a passionate purposeful and customer centric leader to join our team as a Manufacturing Process Engineer
Responsibilities
What youll do
Support development and implementation of Crankshafts and Gears manufacturing systems for new powertrain programs primarily in southeast Michigan and Ohio.
Utilize machining process knowledge particularly steel and iron metal cutting and grinding to deliver an efficient and optimized process regarding quality costs timing and footprint.
Lead equipment installation power on run capability and equipment handover to the powertrain plants.
Initiate bids evaluate recap bids for equipment purchase; work with Purchasing to write and place orders.
Work with OEMs suppliers Product and Plant engineering teams to resolve engineering and program delivery issues.
Interface and coordinate project related items such as facilities safety ergonomics material handling & kitting tooling and gauging.
Support discrete event simulation for constraint analysis; work with Industrial Engineers (IE) to assess and improve throughput.
Periodic short term travel up to 100% to SE Michigan and Ohio Manufacturing Plants during equipment installation and launch periods.
Strong communication skills along with the ability to work in a cross functional team
Strong organization skills with the ability to handle complex projects with multiple objectives
Proven record of customer focused work
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications
Youll have...
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology
2 years of Engineering and Manufacturing experience
1 year working knowledge of GD&T; reading engineering drawings
1 year Lean Manufacturing principles
1 year experience Project Management
Even better you may have
Master of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology
2 years Automotive experience
1 year Gear manufacturing experience
1 year Automation/ Robotics experience
Six Sigma Certification
