Whole Building Science assessment at multiple categories (Thermal energy acoustics AQ) is an important part of the Building Science team. We require extensive support not only for local BU (Gypsum Insulation and Glass business) but : for driving strategic thinking and external collaborations.
Objective of this position
As a Building Science Specialist you will be responsible for assessing a building material's impact on energy and comfort performance along with facilitating new product development with BU teams. You will primarily use simulation software and onsite measurements to quantify the product's performance.
We are looking for self-motivated professionals who can independently design and plan experiments good at data analysis and preparing reports for internal teams and clients. The domain expertise is required in the following areas:
Carbon footprint estimation or modelling / Construction materials / Building Energy modelling and system measurements / Building Information modelling BIM / Sustainability Design.
Conduct multi-comfort & efficiency (energy carbon) assessments for buildings including analyzing energy consumption data and identifying areas for improvement
Provide technical assistance and training to building owners operators and occupants to help them understand and reduce their carbon footprint
Keep up to date with the latest developments in building energy efficiency renewable energy and carbon reduction policies and technologies
Collaborate with other experts including architects engineers and sustainability professionals to promote carbon reduction in buildings
Prepare a standardized report of the analysis and use appropriate infographics to showcase the results
Work with the in-house team to optimize the simulation process and reduce the overall time of the analysis and report generation
Support Glass and Gypsum R&D teams for developing arguments to support products prescription

The candidate should be enthusiastic to explore and develop new products leveraging publication journals
PHD or Master's degree or equivalent in Building Science / High Performance Buildings / Sustainable
Design / Architecture / Civil Engineering / Construction technologies or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience in the relevant field
Has technical expertise in the below:
Solid Building Science basics (Thermal Acoustics Visual and air-quality)
Knowledge of Thermo-physical acoustical properties of building materials
Understanding of LCA and EPD documentations
Well versed with existing local and internal standards for building energy carbon quantification
Green building labels
Simulation expertise:
Proficient in Design Builder LightStanza ClimateStudio Rhino Grasshopper One click LCA (mandatory)
Use of EC3 Covetool would be an added advantage.
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Onsite measurements expertise: Experience with preparation of test plans independently design experiments DOE execute onsite testing setups is mandatory.
Proficient in conducting big data analysis
Basic experience in MATLAB python language will be a plus.
Experience with big data analysis and effective reporting.
Excellent oral / presentation and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently as well as in teams.
