Job Summary
We are seeking a detailoriented and professional Birth Registrar to join a hospitalbased Labor & Delivery unit in Pittsfield MA. This parttime temporary role involves completing official birth and fetal death certificates supporting unit operations and assisting with various administrative and secretarial tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and file birth certificates and fetal death certificates accurately and in a timely manner
Provide clerical and administrative support to the Labor & Delivery unit
Interact with patients families physicians and hospital staff professionally and compassionately
Maintain and enter data in EMR and state systems
Ensure strict confidentiality and adherence to legal documentation protocols
Requirements
3 years of experience as a registrar administrative assistant or medical records professional
Active Massachusetts Notary Public license (must be bonded and insured)
High School diploma or GED required
Valid Drivers License
Experience with Meditech Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be fully COVID vaccinated (dose on or after 10/3/2023) or willing to provide a documented exemption
Additional Details
No weekend or oncall shifts required
8hour paid orientation included
