Job Description

Whats needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years experience in sales airline management marketing digital or customer experience
  • Strong communication analytical and negotiating skills
  • Proficiency in key business computer applications (ex. MS Office)
  • Ability to create and deliver exceptional clientfacing presentations
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

  • CTE/GLP
  • Knowledge and user experience of the companys systems and data sources used within Sales

Our Sales team works closely with travel agencies United travel departments corporate clients and more to provide phenomenal customer solutions that lead to fruitful business relationships. And through valued customer feedback optimized partnerships and innovative sales strategies Sales continues to be the largest revenuegenerating department at United.

Key Responsibilities:

The Sales Manager in conjunction with the Global Account Manager will support one of Uniteds broadest most complex and strategic agency accounts and will be responsible for driving business results that include increasing Uniteds market share and optimizing revenue (including max ROI from lowest cost options). The Sales Manager will perform routine analysis to explore ways to maximize value from this partnership through new ideas and approaches to driving business results. Daytoday management activities include oversight of customer incentives contract agreements distribution programs and strategic account management. The Sales Manager will be heavily involved with maximizing Uniteds potential to build our brand and sell our uniquely United value propositions across a heavy schedule of virtual and inperson forums activations and events designed to drive unparalleled visibility and grow affinity for United.

Account management business planning and administration

  • Supports Global Account Manager with daytoday account management responsibilities including resolution of service issues capturing competitive intelligence account planning performance reporting budgeting and preparing clientfacing presentation materials. Taking ownership of assigned areas within the TMC portfolio.
  • Executes strategic and tactical initiatives in various geographical markets in coordination with the Global Account Manager.
  • Work with CSC stakeholders on increasing brand awareness.
  • Maintains realtime awareness of marketplace developments and communicates trends & opportunities.
  • Has expert knowledge of United value propositions and sales processes

Analytical Problem Solving

  • Monitors and analyzes agency performance data to find opportunities and threats and collaborates with internal/external collaborators to develop and implement action plans to drive share to United. Leverages knowledge of digital selling tools and booking technologies to ensure that United is advantageously displayed in applicable selling channels.

Increase UA Visibility

  • Collaborates with Global Account Manager to increase UA visibility and selling capabilities within the agency and across agencys diversified lines of business. Activities include planning and execution of agent education events leadership engagement meetings promotional events business planning sessions and media planning.

Note: This position provides for a remote work arrangement with preference toward candidates in Chicago IL; Newark NJ; New York City NY; or Washington D.C. This position will be required to travel up to 50% of the time.
